WHAT IS THIS CLASS ACTION ABOUT?
In 2015, Option consommateurs filed a class action against Panasonic Corporation regarding a conspiracy to artificially inflate the prices of linear resistors.
A linear resistor is one of the main components of any electronic circuit. Linear resistors are used in several electrical devices used at home such as heating appliances and irons, as well as in several electronic devices such as cellphones, motherboards, hard drives and televisions.
WHO IS A CLASS MEMBER?
Any person or company who purchased in Québec one or more linear resistors or one or more products containing one or more linear resistors between January 1st, 2005 and July 2015.
WHAT STAGE HAS THE CLASS ACTION REACHED?
The case is currently suspended in Quebec given a parallel case currently proceeding in Ontario.
